Re: Lansdowne Park re-launch nears, on time and ‘tracking well’, July 3.
Frank Clair was an iconic CFL coach and deserves the commemoration planned by the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group for this September. He brought football glory to Ottawa in the 1960s and ’70s.
But tucked away in the former Frank Clair Stadium was a building named after E.G. Friel that accommodated the players dressing area. Eddie Friel was the longtime superintendent who spent most of his 92 years working and living at Lansdowne Park to bring the winning conditions for professional football in Ottawa. The OSEG should recognize my grandfather Eddie Friel as well.
