The Multiple Sclerosis Society needs volunteers for its upcoming Ottawa Mandarin MS Walk on Sunday, April 24at the Jean Talon Building, Tunney’s Pasture. Many positions are available, such as cheering, greeters, route marshals and parking. They also need an audio visual tech volunteer to upload education sessions to its YouTube site and social action committee members. Contact: 613-728-1583.

Ottawa Therapy Dogs is looking to fill open board positions for a treasurer and communications director. Contact Rachelle at nominations@ottawatherapydogs.ca. In addition, OTD needs new therapy dog teams to volunteer in health-care and education facilities. Bilingual therapy dog teams with weekday availability for weekly visits are most needed, but English or French evening and weekend placements with bi-weekly or monthly visits are possible. Ecology Ottawa needs summer interns to join their dynamic team. Interns will participate in direct outreach, receive training and conduct work on special projects. Shepherds of Good Hope has openings for a variety of volunteer positions. This includes a soup kitchen cook to help on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteer barber and beautician/stylists to cut the hair of men and women who stay at the residences and shelters, and a furniture refinishing and repair volunteer who can assist with the repair of wood furniture in the workshop program. Centre 454 is a weekday drop-in centre in Sandy Hill that offers personal, practical, social and spiritual support. Help this worthy organization by volunteering your time in one of the following positions: receptionist, kitchen help, social recreation volunteer, translator and weekend program volunteer.
