Ottawa police are looking for 350 very warm, very hot parkas that were stolen in break-ins at two local outdoor stores.
Police say the thieves targeted Canada Goose parkas in the break-ins at Le Baron Outdoor Products on Merivale Road and NRML Select on Richmond Road.
The parkas were stolen in at least three commercial break-ins in November and involve all sizes, colours and styles of men’s and women’s parkas. Some of the hot goods might turn up for sale online or through other vendors, police say.
“If you’re purchasing this brand of jacket from a private vendor or on the Internet, please be mindful that it could be a stolen item,” Det. Ryan O’Neil of the Break and Enter Unit said in a statement. “Make sure you know the vendor.”
Investigators are looking for two vehicles they believe were involved in the heists: a white five-tonne truck and a cream- or beige-coloured hatchback.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to call the Ottawa Police West Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2655.
