Thunderstorms are “quite possible” on Thursday evening in the Ottawa, Gatineau and Cornwall regions, including the Kanata, Orléans, Richmond, and Metcalfe areas, according to a low priority warning issued by Environment Canada.
The storm is heading southeast from Algonquin Park, where a strong Arctic cold front triggered showers and thunderstorms earlier in the day. Wind might reach up to 80 km/h, with frozen rain and brief heavy downpours.
Environment Canada is asking the public to monitor future forecasts for warnings and further information.
