They fell down and they got back up again, albeit with considerable effort as they slogged their way through a six-kilometre course of thick, brown soup.
Mud Hero Ottawa kicked off on Saturday at Commando Paintball on Dunning Road, with participants pushing through a course that featured 16-plus obstacles.
As Citizen photographer Ashley Fraser’s photos show, it was a messy, mucky day, with the toothy smiles stretched across the faces of participants sometimes about the only things not covered in mud.
