Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in a home off Meadowlands Drive East early Sunday morning.
Ottawa Fire Services received multiple 911 calls shortly after 7 a.m. about a fire in a detached, two-storey house at 65 Tiverton Dr., located across the street from the Parkwood Hills Public School.
Firefighters said heavy black smoke and flames were visible when they arrived.
The fire was centred in a garage, add-on garage and a Mercedes cube van inside, though smoke damage was done to the house. The fire was not considered suspicious, said Ottawa police.
No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at approximately $200,000. The occupants will be staying with neighbours while the house is inspected.
