City Hall Blog: Accessibility parking options at Lansdowne

After we published this story about growing pains for drivers and pedestrians at the redeveloped Lansdowne Park, I received an email inquiring about disability parking at the site.

It was an oversight that I didn’t include the information in the original story.

Here’s the response I received from Hassan Madhoun, who I dubbed in the story as the transportation guru for the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG.):

The underground parking garage has 37 accessible parking spaces, 31 of which are accessible by the general public. The remaining accessible spaces are designated for condo owners.

There are also a number of on-street accessible parking spaces available on Exhibition Way and Marché Way. The on-street parking spaces form a part of the Shops at Lansdowne, parking is limited to 1-hr payable at the Pay & Display machine. The accessible parking signage is currently up, but there are still outstanding items that are to be installed over the next few weeks.

Also, there is a designated Para Transpo and Taxi pick-up/drop-off zone located between Building H and G.

During major events at TD Place Stadium/Arena, additional parking spaces near elevator lobbies and accesses are held within the underground garage for guests who require accessible parking. Our Guest Relations staff are also at those locations to provide assistance to guests.
