Paramedics received a call Thursday morning from a passerby who reported seeing a body in the Ottawa River near Rideau Falls.
A spokesperson for the paramedics said they received the call just after 9 a.m.
The paramedics’ marine unit is among the responders on the scene at Sussex Drive and Stanley Avenue. Reports indicate the search also includes the Quebec side of the river.
The case was handed over to Gatineau police for further investigation at about noon.
