A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening with a loaded handgun after shots were fired in Sandy Hill.
Phillip McGuffie was arrested after a foot chase by the Ottawa Police Service and is facing 15 counts, including several weapons charges, a breach of probation and possession of marijuana.
Police said they responded to reports of gun shots near the 500 block of Chapel Crescent just after 5 p.m. When officers arrived, they saw a man believed to be involved fleeing the area.
Police say they recovered a loaded 9-mm semi-automatic Glock handgun.
McGuffie is expected to appear in Ottawa court for a show cause hearing on Monday.
