There’s a multi-disciplinary fête for Winterlude in Gatineau on Saturday, and it’ll include music, slam poetry and an exhibition of distinctive portraits.
Passage Pixellisé is 8 to 11 p.m. Feb. 16 in Galerie Montcalm at 25 rue Laurier. The performance lineup includes Astrobeat DJs, VJ Mawt Trooda nd slam poets D-Track and Marjolaine Beauchamp. Admission is free.
The current exhibition in the gallery is Libre Circulation, recent paintings by Benjamin Rodger. His work since he returned to the Ottawa-area several years ago has focused on textile patterns as background, and sometimes as foreground, for portraits of the people he knows. In the past year he has increasingly incorporated more singular patterns and shapes, such as circles or details from maps. The exhibition continues to March 3.
