Re: How the Sir John Carling building will be destroyed, July 9
My mother’s cousin, Dr. Luella Weresub (1918-1979) was a prominent Ottawa mycologist (someone who studies mushrooms.) It was a long time ago, but I remember her being very upset that a large office building was being constructed on Experimental Farm land. She didn’t want any intrusion on farmland, and figured that would be the tipping point towards pavement everywhere.
I’m going to cycle over to watch the building implode, and raise my water bottle to toast my indomitable relative who waited a long time for this.
