Imagine taking a dusty journal off the shelf, flipping to a particularly angsty diary entry, circa age 11, and reading it out loud to a room full of fellow adults.
Embarrassing? Probably. Hilarious? Potentially. Something being done in Ottawa this weekend? Absolutely.
Pressed Café at 750 Gladstone Ave. is selling tickets, $10 each, for an event they call Grownups Read Things They Wrote as Kids, presented by CBC Radio.
This Sunday starting at 8 p.m., a stage will be opened up to brave souls wanting to share old journal entries, poems, letters, book reports and more. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Enough people have signed up for three hours’ worth of readings. Tickets are being sold online. More information is available on the Facebook event page.
