Volunteer at the 10th anniversary edition of the Bushtukah Bring on the Bay Swim in support of Easter Seals Ontario, an organization helping kids with disabilities succeed. Be part of the three-kilometre open-water swim, the largest in Eastern Canada, without even getting wet! Join us Saturday, July 16, 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Nepean Sailing Club or for the conclusion of the swim at the Britannia Yacht Club. Assist with swimmer registration, medal distribution, set up the swimmers’ breakfast tent and supplies and a final cleanup. Great for high school students needing volunteer hours. On Canada Day, Canadian Heritage wants you to be a great Canadian chicken barbecue assistant volunteer in Major’s Hill Park. Help by handing out promotional items, blowing up balloons (with a pump, phew!), working behind the service counter preparing chicken sandwiches, serving customers, and keeping the condiment table and VIP area clean. Join the 500 volunteers who help ensure activities go as planned and welcome visitors and residents in the region. Many other volunteer opportunities are available, including a photographer to take pictures of the volunteers in action. Great for groups. Police records check is required.
