Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help to piece together information that may help to identify a man believed to have been involved in a sexual assault on Sunday morning.
According to police, around 2:30 a.m. a woman in her 20s entered a vehicle which she believed could transport her to another location. Police would not comment on whether the vehicle was an actual licensed taxi or an independent driver in their personal car.
When she got into the front passenger seat of the vehicle, the male driver sexually assaulted the woman, before dropping her off in the Centertown area, according to police.
Police describe the suspect as being of possible Asian descent, between 35 and 45 years of age, with a round face. The vehicle involved was silver or grey in colour. It had four doors. No taxi markings were visible.
