The Canadian Forces will hold ceremonies to honour the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait. The ceremonies will recognize Canada’s contribution to the first Persian Gulf War. Operation FRICTION was the Canadian military contribution to the 35-nation coalition to remove occupying Iraqi armed forces from Kuwait during the First Gulf War. A national commemorative event will be held at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa on February 27, according the Canadian Forces.
Other details have been posted on Defence Watch for the various events at different bases.
