The ByWard Market — one of Ottawa’s most distinctive neighbourhoods, teeming with history and character — is easily summed up in one word: diverse.

Long renowned as one of the trendiest spots for shopping, dining and nightlife, the Market has seen a major boom in residential development over the last several years. And from luxurious condos to affordable rentals, the mix of housing types and residents is as varied as the diverse, eclectic businesses housed in the area.

There’s shopping and dining, of course, but there’s also a community centre, child care, schools, park space and more. And easy access to public transit and National Capital Commission bike paths add to the reasons many see the ByWard Market as an inviting place to call home.
