For the third time in recent weeks, the Ottawa police guns and gangs unit is investigating a shooting at the same community housing development.

Police were called to 955 Debra Ave. around 6:15 p.m. Thursday after two men in a car were shot at multiple times by a man who fled the scene.

One man was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Thursday’s shooting was the latest in a string of gun violence in the same Debra Dynes development.

Ottawa police investigate the scene of a parking lot shooting that sent one man to hospital. Police said eight to 10 shots were heard on Debra Avenue on Thursday evening.

On Nov. 23, police received two calls reporting shots fired just before 5 a.m.

When patrol officers arrived, they found no evidence of a shooting near unit #61.

Later that day, when the woman who lives in the unit returned home, she found bullet holes in the front window and bullets lodged in a wall.

The week before, police alleged 23-year-old Glodi Bushiri fired at a gold Dodge Charger outside the home. The unharmed driver of the Charger fled to a nearby parking lot and called police.

Police believed the first two shootings occurred because people who frequented that home were being targeted. It was not immediately known whether Thursday’s gunfire was related to those two shootings.
