Cooking Mondays, Hip Hop Tuesdays: Christie Lake Kids offers a variety of programs helping at-risk youth experiencing poverty to build skills and confidence. Share your cooking talents on Mondays with children ages six to 12. Or share your dance moves with the Hip Hop program Tuesdays with participants from eight to 15 years, and talents ranging from beginner to intermediate. Both programs take place at the Dempsey Community Centre after school. No formal training/certification required — just passion and willingness to share with youth. Welcome, Bienvenue: Winterlude 2015 (Jan. 29 – Feb. 15) takes place at Lansdowne Park. Guest services volunteers help ensure visitors have enjoyable experiences by greeting, providing general park information and assisting with guest inquiries and park activities/events. Help with outdoor activities like the Community Snow Sculpture Competition or snowshoeing, arts/crafts activities, art exhibitions, and family fun. Do you have the ability to communicate effectively (bilingualism an asset)? Are you comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with large groups and 18+? Orientation and interview required. Get On Board: VHA Health and Home Support needs interested, dynamic people to join the board of directors of this not-for-profit organization to provide strategic governance leadership in the provision of community-based health services to Ottawa residents. Flowers & Finish Lines: Join the Lung Association as a Workplace Champion, collect flower orders for you and your colleagues to receive at work on Tulip Day, March 2. Register by Feb. 5. Rather run, walk, cycle or tackle an obstacle course to the finish line? Join our team for the Ottawa Race Weekend, the Spartan Race, or the Granfondo Ottawa cycling event, raising funds to help provide services for the 1:5 people with lung conditions.
