The Caring and Sharing Exchange needs volunteers to support our Christmas Exchange program. We require individuals to help by making phone calls to hamper recipients, as well as volunteer groups to support our Running on Empties fundraiser. Groups are assigned a store for the day, where they will encourage patrons to donate empty bottles, with proceeds going to the program. The South-East Ottawa Community Health Centre needs volunteers with income tax preparation experience for their income tax clinic running from March to the end of April. Volunteers sign up to do slots of pre-booked, half-hour appointments based on the volunteer’s availability. You must be available for at least one day or half of the day, and evening per week. Training provided. Other positions to fill include: friendly visitors, drivers, and help with the seniors’ exercise program. Contact Jessica-Rae Linzel: jessica-rael@seochc.on.ca or 613-737-5115.

The Well, a spiritual and justice based gathering place for women and their children, needs help with the following positions: friendly visitor (two hours per week), kitchen helpers to assist with breakfast and lunch preparation (Monday to Friday from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.) and computer room assistants to help women become familiar with the Internet, email and various software applications. The Hope Volleyball Summerfest 2016 planning team needs team leaders. Volunteers must be organized, reliable, a team player and fun! Time commitment is for March and April, approx. two to three evenings, and up to five to 10 hours per month from May to July. Contact Laura Andrews: laura@hopehelps.com or 613-237-1543.

Like to drive and help people? Volunteering as a driver for the Hospice Care Ottawa day program may be for you! Drivers transport individuals to/from a day-away program once a week and receive tax receipts for their mileage. Residents from East Ottawa and Orléans highly sought.
