Firefighters took about 30 minutes to extinguish a smoky blaze in a six-door rowhouse complex in Kanata’s Brindlewood neighbourhood Saturday afternoon.
Responders were called to the fire at 261 Tandalee Cres. at about 4:10 p.m. and were met by heavy smoke, with some flames visible at windows.
The fire was declared under control at 4:53 p.m.
A homeowner was taken to hospital suffering from slight smoke smoke inhalation, fire services said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Damages were estimated at $10,000 for the building and $40,000 for the contents.
