Antiques: Head to picturesque Merrickville to check out the annual Antique & Artisan Show and Sale Saturday and Sunday. About 75 vendors from across Ontario and Quebec will be set up rain or shine on the fairgrounds, 106 Read St. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Heritage tour: Take a walking tour of New Edinburgh with Heritage Ottawa Sunday. A mill-town founded in 1832, it’s one of Canada’s earliest planned communities. The 90-minute tour will look at its industrial roots and some early inhabitants and show how the community evolved. Meet at Fraser Schoolhouse, 62 John St. near Sussex Drive, at 2 p.m. Cost is $10. Waste depot: Get rid of your household hazardous waste at a one-day drop-off organized by the city. The next one is Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Waste Management, 254 Westbrook Rd., Stittsville. For a list of what is accepted, visit the garbage and recycling section at ottawa.ca.
