The National Capital Commission temporarily closed Lac Leamy beach Friday due to high levels of bacteria in the water.
Results of the latest tests showed the water quality has deteriorated of late, with the concentration of fecal coliforms exceeding standards, the NCC said in a release.
The NCC will continue with daily water tests to monitor water quality, and will reopen the beach when it’s once again safe for swimming.
Until then, beachgoers can opt instead for the City of Gatineau’s beaches: Parc des Cèdres, Parc du Lac-Beauchamp and Parc Moussette.
Meanwhile, all of Ottawa’s beaches remained open Friday ahead of the city’s final official beach day on Sunday.
