I want to encourage everyone to get out and vote, just to show the politicians that we do care and we will try to make a difference. Perhaps one day we will even have a proportional system where everyone’s vote will actually count, as in many other modern democracies.
I will opt for the Green party, because I want them to know there are those of us out here who care very much about issues they raise. Apart from their green agenda, they are the only party with the nerve to say they would eliminate the publicly funded Catholic school boards and use the funds for more appropriate ends.
I refuse to believe that Ontarians don’t care, that most really think we should perpetuate this outmoded system that flies in the face of what we claim to be as a society — accepting, openminded, egalitarian, and non-denominational (at least in public life).
