The Ottawa Redblacks, who had until 10 p.m. Saturday night to reduce the number of players on the active roster to 46, have announced a number of moves.
Three Canadians — linebacker Tanner Doll, and offensive linemen Aaron Wheaton and Alexandre Laganière — were among 10 players transferred to the CFL team’s practice roster. Others included: defensive back Brandon Sermons, linebacker David Hinds, offensive linemen Cameron Clemmons and Jake Silas, defensive lineman Matt Acree, and wide receivers Michael Campbell and Brelan Chancellor.
Six players were moved to the one-game injured list: quarterback Brock Jensen, receivers Khalil Paden and Marcus Henry, defensive backs Hugo Lopez and Forrest Hightower, and defensive lineman Andrew Marshall.
Defensive lineman Justin Phillips and receiver Matt Carter were transferred to the six-game injured list, and receiver Brad Sinopoli and defensive lineman Jonathan Williams were placed on the disabled list.
The club’s first practice will be held on Sunday at Gee-Gees Field on the Lees campus of the University of Ottawa, beginning at 11:15 a.m. The Redblacks’ Monday practice will take place at Keith Harris Stadium at Carleton University and will again be an 11:15 start.
Ottawa opens the regular season on Thursday in Montreal against the Alouettes, who defeated the Redblacks 26-9 in preseason play back on June 13.
