Home tour: Head to picturesque Merrickville for the town’s annual house and garden tour Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., check out five charming homes and three gardens. Many local businesses will offer special discounts to ticket holders on tour day. Tickets are $25 at Mirick’s Landing Country Store, Main and St. Lawrence streets.
Give it away: Let your “trash” become someone else’s treasure at the city’s Spring Giveaway Weekend Saturday and Sunday. From books and furniture to construction materials and more, simply place them at the curb with a “free” sign. Avoid items that may no longer be safety-approved such as baby walkers and car seats. Walking tour: Join Heritage Ottawa on a walking tour through the heart of the eclectic and socially varied neighbourhood of Hintonburg June 14. Meet at 2 p.m. at Saint-François-d’Assise Church, 20 Fairmont Ave. Cost is $10 for non-members.
Waste depot: Get rid of your household hazardous waste at a one-day drop-off organized by the city. The next one is June 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at BFI (Progressive Waste) Navan Facility, 3354 Navan Rd. Check here for a list of what is accepted.
