Three people have been taken to hospital, with one in critical condition, after a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Leitrim and Albion roads early Friday.
Paramedics responded to the crash just after 1 a.m., and found a vehicle in the ditch with three patients inside. Emergency crews worked to extricate all three young adults from the vehicle.
Paramedics worked quickly and aggressively on the driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man, who suffered extensive head injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.
The two passengers, a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and remain in stable condition at hospital.
Ottawa police are investigating.
