Q. Put Black Buffalo in perspective for me.
A. “I think (Black Buffalo) is the best work we’ve come up with as a band. We’re four guys … We wanted to keep it as raw as we could. A lot of my favourite bands are like that – Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, Zeppelin.”
Q. How does it translate on stage and live?
A. “Live is a different animal,. There’s a chance for error and the human factor. There’s always some sort of special energy in it.”
Q. Your journey has been 10 years in the making. What has that been like, especially when you moved to Vancouver for four years to record and make industry connections?
A. “We left everything. For those four years, I knew that’s where our career had to go. Sometimes you have to make moves to advance things. It brought us closer as musicians, and it let people know we were truly committed to being a band.”
Q. The success of the song Satellite Hotel from Black Buffalo seem to have capped off two good years for the band.
A. “The last two years have been like a dream come true. I can’t even tell you how many hours and years digging and trying it took to get to this point.”
Q. You are touring hard across North America and then Europe. And you have a new album in the works. How do you keep it all together?
A. “We want to make sure we can deliver every night. It’s about pacing yourself. No matter what’s going on, you have to bring it.”
