After months of anticipation and celebrations, Nordstrom opened its second Canadian location at the Rideau Centre Friday in high style.
The day kicked off at 7:30 a.m., two hours before the official opening, with a pre-launch “beauty bash” at its mall entrance, where shoppers received complementary beauty consultations.
In Nordstrom opening tradition, employees lined the aisles and led a rowdy final storewide countdown near the entrance to welcome and applaud the first customers through the doors. The first 2,000 were handed free Nordstrom totes.

Attendees were treated to hors d’oeuvres, desserts, cocktails and live entertainment, in addition to being among the first to shop the new 157,000-square-foot store that include a mix of apparel, shoes and accessories for women, men and children.
