Two adults and two children were left homeless after a fire late Thursday afternoon destroyed their home at 2824 Goodstown Road, just north of North Gower.
Ottawa Fire Services said a neighbour reported flames coming from the house shortly around 4:42 p.m. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 5:19 p.m., but the home was declared a total loss by the family’s insurer. The home was valued at $275,000 and contents at $125,000.
Crews remained on the scene late into the evening to extinguish any hotspots. There were no injuries reported.
