Three people had to be rescued from the water by firefighters after their canoe overturned in Dow’s Lake on Friday night.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Ottawa Fire received multiple calls reporting an overturned canoe with three people in distress in Dow’s Lake.
Police were also notified, and responded, soon establishing visual contact with the victims and provided location information through their dispatch.
Three people were soon removed from the water by firefighters and taken to the shore. When they arrived, paramedics began treating the victims.
All three were wearing life jackets when their canoe overturned.
No firefighters were injured. The condition of the three people involved has not been updated.
