Arrest warrant issued for suspect in two bank robberies

Ottawa police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 19-year-old man charged with robbing two banks in November.

Police say the first robbery occurred Nov. 5 at about 3:30 p.m., when a man entered a bank in the 400 block of Rideau Street. Police say the suspect waited in line and then produced a note demanding cash.

The suspect indicated he had a gun, although none was seen. He ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Three weeks later, on Nov. 29, a man walked into a bank in the 6400 block of Jeanne D’Arc Boulevard North at 10:10 a.m. and produced a note making a demand for money.

The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Kirvens Lamarre, 19. He is charged with two counts each of robbery and wearing a disguise. He is described as being a black male, six-feet (183 cm) tall, 170 pounds(77 kg), black hair, dark eyes, with an athletic build.
