Update: Weird Al confirmed for this summer's Bluesfest

And the first performer announced for this summer’s RBC Royal Bank Ottawa Bluesfest is …”Weird Al” Yankovic?

The bizarro parody performer posted details about his Ottawa appearance on his personal website, weirdal.com. Those details were confirmed on Tuesday by Bluesfest organizers via  Twitter.

“We are excited to be part of the Weird Al tour! Stay tuned for our full line-up coming in the next few months,” read the statement released by Bluesfest on Twitter.

The annual music festival hasn’t made any official announcements about its 2015 lineup yet. In fact, they normally don’t do that until the spring. Last year they announced performers near the end of March.

But Weird Al jumped the gun.
