Ottawa Fury FC has re-signed captain Richie Ryan to a two-year contract extension.
Ryan was named captain to kick off the Fury’s 2014 inaugural season during training camp last spring, and played 22 of the club’s 25 games so far, logging 1,957 minutes of action. He is currently tied for the team lead in assists (3).
The contract extension goes to the end of the 2016 season.
Ryan is also a new father. His partner, Nikki, gave birth last week to their first child, daughter Polly. “It is an amazing feeling and we’re happy that our family will call Ottawa home for another two years,” Ryan said in a team statement.
