Ottawa police are seeking public assistance to identify a “person of interest” who dropped off a sex trade worker who had been seriously injured in an assault on Wednesday.

Police say the victim, who was not identified by police, was dropped off between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in “an area bounded by Montreal Road, Lafontaine Street, Mona Avenue and McArthur Avenue.”

The car was described as a late-model, two-door, black sports car with a rear spoiler.

Investigators say they believe the person sought “may have knowledge as to the whereabouts of the victim, before she was found badly beaten.”
